Each
home we build is custom tailored to the wishes of our
clients. As each home is individually designed, we do
not have a
fixed price scale. However, there are many factors which
influence the cost of your log shell. These are:
- Height
and number of log walls
- Number
of corners and notches
- Log
diameter and length of walls
- Wall
style (chinked or full-scribed)
- Complexity
of roof and wall systems
- Number
of door and window openings
All of our log homes include the following:
- Window and door bevels cut and sanded
- Drilling
for electrical wiring
- Partition
slots cut for interior walls
- Reassembly
of house and insulation of log walls
Additional
options include but are not limited to:
- CAD Design
- Archways
- Staircases
- Railing
Work
- Gazebos
- Saunas
- Log Elements
- Chinking + Staining

We drawknife each log by hand to remove
the cambium layer creating
a smooth, blonde log.

Each log is hand-scribed to fit the
contours of
all adjoining logs.
We
are able to offer features that few other companies do.
Overscribing of the lateral walls and the use of compression
fit round notches create an air-tight, shrink-to-fit home.
We also offer impressive white pine logs with diameters
up
to 28" and
lengths of up to 70 feet long!
We offer assistance in the design process and will also
modify the plans of other architects.

Mountain logworks is proud to be a member of the International Log Builders' Association. The ILBA is dedicated to furthering the craft of handcrafted log building and has established the highest standards for the trade.
